What Program and Project Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Program/Project Management is responsible for planning, developing, communicating, implementing, and evaluating programs that involve working with internal and external resources. Works within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope while managing risk and ensuring adherence to established processes and methodologies.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of project management process: initiating, executing, monitoring/controlling, and closing
  • Monitors performance and recommends scope, timeline, cost, or resource adjustments
  • Connects short-term demands to long-term implications in alignment with the business case
  • Prioritizes multiple tasks/projects while meeting deadlines; communicates project status (health, forecast, issues, risks, etc.) to stakeholders in an open & honest fashion
  • Effectively balances competing project constraints such as: budget, resources, timeline, etc. to ensure project success
  • Connects project objectives to broader organizational goals
  • Works with stakeholders to obtain the resources necessary for project execution
  • Develop an actionable plan for team members and hold them accountable for their tasks

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects
  • May lead projects independently or part of a large-scale , complex project/initiative
  • Develops technical, innovative solutions consistent with organization objectives for a wide range of difficult problems
  • Completes work independently receives general guidance on new projects
  • May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues

Accountabilities

  • Manages multiple projects at once, including project tasks, budget, and timeline
  • Escalates issues, risks, and decisions, as appropriate
  • Assists team in identifying project plan, tasks, timelines, risks, and dependencies; ensures hand-offs are planned for
  • Has a clear understanding of the HR Service Delivery model to ensure decisions are made with an enterprise perspective

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years experience in related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred
