Cardinal Health Manager, Business Process Engineer Cutover (P-Mod) in Dublin, Ohio

Purpose: The Manager, Business Process Engineer Cutover (P-Mod) is responsible for managing the cut over efforts and team for the Pharma Modernization program. This position will be focused on the following business process area: managing a team within the cutover functions and leading the cut over efforts for this project.

Accountabilities in this role

  • The primary role of the IT Cutover Lead is to implement the IT components of the defined deploymentstrategy. Key steps:
  • Drive the detailed cutover strategy for every work stream (process teams, BI&A, Data, BASIS and App Dev) including legacy teams and the shared services infrastructure for each go-live. Consider impacts to customers and suppliers.
  • Support the teams in translating the cutover strategy to a detailed cutover (T-Minus) plan and supporting checklists.
  • Coordinate the various teams to define dependencies on activities within the overall plan.
  • Coordinate the development of contingency and rollback plans
  • Define the resources (people, facilities and infrastructure) required to execute the go-lives.
  • Conduct practice (mock) deployment and incorporate lessons learned into the future plans.
  • Conduct quality review and obtain final cutover approval.
  • Partners with relevant parties to ensure post-go-live support (hypercare)
  • Develop go/no checklists.
  • Schedule and conduct go / no-go meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate go-live execution and orchestrate activities of all involved parties.
  • Provide timely and frequent updates to project team and other stakeholders across enterprise.
  • Execute any contingency / roll-back activities, if necessary.
  • Coordinate post go-live KPIs from an IT perspective.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers from multiple organizations to track activity progress, identify risks, communicate risks and status to supervisor, and to assess potential impacts to the go-lives.


  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience, BS in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field is a plus
  • 8+ years’ experience in related field.
  • Working knowledge of three or more technologies preferred
  • Proven leadership ability preferred
  • Experience with SAP or integrating to SAP would be a plus
  • Experience with managing cutover processes for large IT projects.
  • Ability to define work processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills preferred.
  • Experience with business critical applications.
  • Prior experience with go-lives.
  • Experience on large-scale implementation programs preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft project to manage plans a plus.
  • Technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals
  • Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models
  • Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues

Software Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
  • Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
  • Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
