Cardinal Health Manager, Infrastructure & Networking in Brentwood, Tennessee

General Summary

Provide general oversight and management of all physical infrastructure and network resources located in the Navihealth production datacenters and office locations.This includes servers, Blade chassis, SAN’s, routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, wireless equipment and all connectivity.S\he will be a hands-on individual who can perform relevant technical tasks and supervise a small group of network engineers and Senior systems engineers to take responsibility for the 24X7X365 support of all key hardware and networking resources.S\he will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees when needed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the leadership, vision, long range goals and objectives of the IT infrastructure, including data center, systems administration, email, voice/data network, and host/server environment
  • Directs and manages the daily operations of the Infrastructure & networking group in accordance with the organization’s values and objectives
  • Leads the daily operations of all server systems, data networks and voice (telecommunication) systems (land and cellular), including advanced tuning and performance of systems and network; capacity planning, systems and network configuration, network design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Coordinates the integration of data, information and communication systems
  • Leads the management of network administration, systems administration, telecommunication, administration, technical client services administration ensuring team and individual performance levels meet customer needs and SLAs consistently
  • Participates in and assists with ongoing analysis, development, design and implementation of new information systems and infrastructure including setting standards, data design and integration of standards and design
  • Manages all data as a secure asset, responsible for implementing systems, network security, disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives
  • Serves as internal project lead/manager for large scale infrastructure projects
  • Oversees the assessment and capacity planning to include recommendations for necessary purchases for future system capacity and connectivity, interface with vendors and other agencies to develop and maintain public access systems
  • Reviews and analyzes naviHealth programs, operations and works with business departments to develop technology strategies to address their current and future business needs
  • Conducts regular reviews of assigned staff and develops personal development plans, following capability processes where appropriate; Ensures continual development of the team and individuals occurs and that the highest potential is achieved
  • Reviews aspects/areas for improvement with own practice/processes, and those within the assigned area of responsibility
  • Ensures communication takes place both upwards and downwards across the assigned area of responsibility
  • Works under the direction of the appropriate manager to monitor financial management within the assigned team
  • Participates in the development of the Information Technology Department's annual budget and is responsible for the budget and programs associated with Physical Infrastructure Services
  • Serves as a member of the IT Management Team and works collaboratively with all other IT staff to ensure comprehensive planning and service delivery, using best practice methodology, in accordance with IT Department and organizational goals
  • Builds successful working and IT support relationships across the organization including external customers, partners and vendors
  • Meets customer service financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field required. In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, will consider High School Diploma with 8+ years of mid to senior level experience working in the Information Technology field
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience within the Information Technology field, with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of all standard datacenter infrastructure such as physical servers, Blade Chassis, SANS, load balancing, firewall, firewalls and routers is required
  • Experience supporting 24X7X365 production datacenters
  • Knowledge of current practices and technologies in technology infrastructure, including network administration, systems administration, telecommunications administration, technical client services administration and communication
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of VoIP systems, server administration, server virtualization, storage virtualization, complex corporate-type networks, and cyber security
  • Ability to keep current on developing technologies and potential impact on naviHealth operations
  • Ability to relate to a wide variety of people and to observe, listen, motivate, and provide leadership which results in the best environment
  • Ability to manage financial, material, and human resources effectively
  • Ability to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to make oral presentations to various audiences including naviHealth leadership and departments.
