Manufacturing -- Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.

Product Test and Calibration -- Product Test & Calibration sets up, aligns, monitors, and/or calibrates production equipment. Assists and may perform maintenance on machines and cleans up minor chemical spills in assigned area as well as glassware, ovens, and other equipment.

Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a working technical leader, keep up-to-date records and maintain databases, coordinate preventive maintenance work orders and general repair and upkeep of buildings and equipment in the plant. This position will assist in training and development of the Maintenance Technician’s workforce within the department/area assigned. Responsible for assigned work orders and unscheduled maintenance and repairs of equipment.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

Verifiable experience in plant facility equipment.Working knowledge of how to reset and start up chillers and boilers.Practical experience of how to operate chiller and air compressor programs.Have knowledge of pipe fitting and plumbing.Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies in the work place as required.Have a working knowledge of welding equipment and be able to make major/minor welds.Know how to avoid the electrical hazards of working on or near exposed/unexposed energized (live) parts.Have the electrical skills and knowledge to safely conduct the assigned tasks and a perform electrical tasks commensurate with their level of training related to the construction and operation of electrical equipment, systems and installations.

Accountabilities

  • Coordinate and perform unscheduled maintenance, repairs and modifications on assigned equipment as needed and document changes as required by operating procedures. Assist in the maintenance of manufacturing equipment and provide instruction to Maintenance Technician I personnel during maintenance or repair. Provide technical assistance as requested and arrange for technical support if necessary to complete repairs.
  • Ensure proper set-up of production machines and ancillary equipment according to procedures and product specifications at the completion of assigned tasks.
  • Adhere to plant policies/procedures, department EHS rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), ISO 13485 regulations and Good Housekeeping procedures.
  • Shall operate in a manner that protects the health and safety of its employees/visitors and operate in a manner that conserves energy, natural resources and protects the environment.
  • Complete all paperwork pertaining to the finished product and maximo system being produced according to established guidelines in manufacturing procedures.
  • Report any unusual or unacceptable circumstances to supervisor.
  • Responsible to observe department’s regulations and to use personal protective equipment as required, must be safety conscious and Lockout/Tagout trained.
  • Transport hazardous waste to accumulation areas.
  • Complete Annual Hazardous Waste (RCRA) refresher training.

Qualifications

Education: One year certificate from college or technical school (machinist, engineering technology) preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience

Experience: 4-5 years medical device manufacturing related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
