What General Accounting contributes to Cardinal Health

General Accounting is responsible for maintaining the financial books and records and preparing financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects
  • May contribute to the development of policies and procedures
  • Works on complex projects of large scope
  • Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives
  • Completes work independently receives general guidance on new projects
  • Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives
  • May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues

Accountabilities

  • Monitor litigation expense and accruals including partnering with the businesses and legal department to ensure accurate reporting
  • Prepare consolidated debt covenant calculation for CFO, CAO, and Treasurer approval
  • Own EY fee accruals and quarterly reporting for proxy filing
  • Work with business partners to resolve intercompany out of balances and monitor compliance with settlement policy
  • Record and reconcile intercompany interest expense
  • Opportunity to get involved in other key consolidation tasks
  • Ad hoc analysis and projects as necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, preferably in Accounting
  • 4+ years of experience in related field
  • CPA preferred
  • HFM and SAP experience preferred
