What Database Administration contributes to Cardinal Health

Database Administration is responsible for operational support, managing system health, resource management and enforcing technology standards for physical databases on specific database technologies in the production environment.

Accountabilities in this role

  • Finds and fixes problems in production and non-production environments for SQL
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
  • Understands customer needs, challenges appropriately considering all risks and possibilities; proactively generates creative solutions

  • Has database masking experience, monitoring HIPAA for regulatory

  • Ability to lead SQL resources and/or projects towards the delivery of database solutions using SQL
  • Ability to learn new platforms
  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP)
  • Performs complex analysis of system capabilities; is sought out for deep expertise
  • Works collaboratively to ensure integration services are delivered on time, with high quality, and within estimated cost
  • Provides deep technical and functional expertise; is a trusted expert

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years experience in related field preferred
  • Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting for issue resolution preferred
  • Has knowledge of and experience with more advanced DB concepts like backup and recovery, monitoring, performance tuning preferred
