What HR Management contributes to Cardinal Health

HR Management is responsible for strategic oversight and/or leadership direction within the HR function.

What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals
  • Partners with executive sponsor/IMO/PMO to set and enforce strategic direction for program; guiding principles, themes, and success metrics
  • Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope
  • Provides solutions which may set precedent
  • Independently determines method for completion of new projects
  • Engages and influences business stakeholders and process owners in change management strategy development and execution. Leads cross-functional Change Management work steam for larger projects and initiatives.

Accountabilities

Change Management – planning, execution, and results

  • Develops and oversees execution of effective HR change management plans that incorporate layered communications tactics, training, and processes.
  • Identifies important issues and risks, recommends options, facilitates and negotiates individual and team decisions. Requires an understanding of stakeholder motivations, politics, and impacts to the organization.
  • Ensures proper strategic alignment and direction through the integration of all change management plans and requirements.

Collaboration/Partnership with stakeholders

  • Collaborates with cross-functional departments/SMEs to determine the project or process improvement; follow project from initiation through to implementation.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts and business stakeholders to analyze and interpret data and to determine how to use, modify or change resources and processes for greater operational efficiencies and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates with Communications and Enterprise Learning partners to align communications and training plans with broader change plan.

Influence and Trust

  • Builds working relationships with senior-level business and shared services partners; challenging business assumptions and offering a point of view to assist in the decision-making process.
  • Acts in an advisory capacity providing expertise and professional knowledge to executive management on change management tactics.
  • Manages overall change saturation levels for the organization and acts in an advisory role to senior leaders to guide the enterprise when making decisions about the introduction of change.
  • Influences change management processes and practice and leads adoption of common methodology and standards related to change management, communication processes or related process improvements.

Team/function leadership

  • Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and development to high performing team of Transformation Leads and Project Managers
  • Responsible for understanding current and future project demand and capacity requirements for the portfolio/program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of recent work experience leading large projects, teams or transformation efforts to include process improvements, product implementations, systems development and integration efforts, strongly preferred
  • Experience in applying the ADKAR change model, strongly preferred
  • Ability to effectively navigate a highly-matrixed organization, learn business and/or technological concepts
  • Ability to understand project and resource interdependencies within a program or portfolio
  • Demonstrated strategic skill-set: able to synthesize and translate internal and external customer inputs, business performance metrics and strategic directives into projects and action plans
  • Proven track record in delivering results; Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work with minimal direction
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely, logically, tactfully, and effectively in contentious or politically sensitive situations both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to mitigate risks proactively and resolve issues; and escalate when appropriate
