What SEC Reporting contributes to Cardinal Health

SEC Reporting is responsible for the preparation and review of financial information to be released outside of the organization as well as for the research, interpretation, and communication of complex accounting matters.

  • Provides accounting guidance to business partners related to proposed transactions to ensure conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Conducts research regarding the impact to financial statements of potential changes to accounting rules proposed by accounting standards setters, and advises management regarding the same.
  • Ensures all SEC reports and disclosures comply with applicable government regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.
  • Ensures that relevant accounting standards are appropriately and consistently applied.
  • Prepares and reviews consolidated financial statements and all other required disclosures to maintain compliance with the SEC and GAAP.
  • Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual close process for Cardinal’s corporate international entities and its corporate factoring and captive insurance companies.
  • Coordinates with multiple third-party accounting vendors who assist with local international accounting requirements and bookkeeping.
  • Coordinates and reviews annual statutory audits and financial statement preparation for corporate international entities and captive insurance company.
  • Manage various ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Sets and complies with accounting policies.
  • Defines and executes internal controls to manage financial risk.

Accountabilities in this role

  • Primary responsibilities include the management of SEC Reporting team, technical accounting research for the business, earnings releases and quarterly reporting review.
  • Monthly accounting responsibilities includes equity compensation, restructure and acquisition integration, corporate factoring and captive insurance companies, and international holding companies.
  • Annual coordination and review of annual statutory audits and financial statement preparation for corporate international entities and captive insurance company.
  • The candidate must have a solid understanding of GAAP accounting rules; be able to take an accounting issue, do the research and determine and summarize the appropriate accounting for the transaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferably Accounting or Finance
  • 8+ years of experience in related Accounting field
  • Core general ledger experience required
  • External reporting experience, preferred
  • Prior leadership experience
  • CPA preferred
