What Software Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health

Software Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
  • Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
  • Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
  • Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.
  • Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
  • Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.

Accountabilities:

  • Support Corporate Finance functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Tax and Audit
  • Work with business and IT to develop solutions that leverage best practice, adhere to design guiding principles and align with our finance roadmap.
  • Lead financial integration effort to support on-going merger and acquisition activities.
  • Advisor and mentor of other less experienced resources on the team
  • Participates in the development policies and procedures to achieve specific goals
  • Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models
  • Will be responsible for supporting or may lead complex projects of large scope that may have long-term impact
  • Work with Business, Enterprise Architecture and others to provide solutions that fit into BRITS
  • Ability to analyze existing configurations, and make changes as necessary
  • Responsible for gathering requirements and the creation of functional specification documents
  • Work through the SDLC lifecycle
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily tasks in order to meet SLA’s in accordance to urgency of open cases
  • Integrate banking solutions into the ERP system
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with the business and technical developers

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years experience in related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in full cycle implementation as well as in project supports
  • 5+ years of SAP FICO experience supporting the following functions (minimum 2): General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Intercompany Accounting, Profitability Analysis.
  • 5+ years of SAP FSCM experience supporting the following functions: Credit Management, Collection, Dispute Management, Cash Application and Treasury.
  • Working knowledge of three or more technologies preferred
  • Proven leadership ability preferred
  • Experience in FI integration points with other SAP modules – SD, MM, etc.
  • Experience in S/4HANA and Central Finance is a plus
  • Strong Communication Skills, written and verbal
