What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health:

Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.

Accountabilities:

This role will be responsible for maintaining carrier contracts within the MercuryGate system, testing and implementing design solutions in MercuryGate, and providing analytical support to the transportation teams within Cardinal Health. The position will work across multi-functional teams, such as EIT – Warehouse and Transportation, warehouse personnel, and management for development and training. The position is a vital role in integrating Cardinal Health's TMS, SAP and warehouse systems to support solutions for the Medical Supply Chain organization.

  • Responsible for setting up carriers in MercuryGate, preparing/loading their contracts and their rates and on-going maintenance of this information.
  • Responsible for resolving load and rating issues which generate an inaccurate result within MecuryGate.
  • Identifies design changes to systems/processes where beneficial or required.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and to provide internal team members scorecards on carrier performance.
  • Analyze and aggregate data for specific cost savings, process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide support for field and general office teams to manage transportation settings within SAP and MercuryGate system through reporting and mass maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Equivalent Experience Preferred (concentration is Transportation & Logistics/Supply Chain Management preferred)
  • 3 years+ experience working with supply chain operations, transportation management systems or associated technologies preferred
  • Experience in distribution/transportation operations preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, business planning, financial analysis, negotiation, and customer satisfaction skills preferred
