Communications Business Partners are responsible for developing and implementing strategies/plans focused on communications management, customer satisfaction, executive counseling and business performance.

  • Creates, manages and executes communication strategies and tactics in support of business objectives.
  • Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of communications principles and methodologies.
  • Counsels and collaborates with business leaders and stakeholders, to execute strategies/plans that meet business needs.
  • Develops effective messaging strategies to support the needs of the business in conjunction with internal and/or external resources.
  • Demonstrates and applies knowledge of communication measurement against objectives and deliverables.
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communications skills.

The Manager, Communications Business Partner, Cordis will serve the President of Cordis and his leadership team, setting internal and external communication strategy for the business, creating and executing communication plans, providing support for product launches, supporting ongoing business operations, creating special announcements, and managing all leadership and strategic communications. The role will work collaboratively with the Cordis President as well as other senior Cordis executives and will collaborate with other leaders and communicators across the Medical Segment and the company.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Creates and implements an integrated communication plan, tied to Cordis strategic priorities and aligned with Medical Segment priorities.
  • Works directly with the President and other Cordis leaders to provide executive positioning, internal and external communications support, and thought leadership guidance.
  • Works with the Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, Vice President of Medical Segment Communications and other Communications leaders.
  • Works collaboratively across the Medical Segment Communications team to execute communications in an aligned approach.
  • Responsible for the content and execution of Cordis town halls and other large employee meetings, including commercial team meetings.
  • Produces and delivers internal communications content, including but not limited to Cordis leadership email communications; news and announcements; speechwriting and presentations, including PowerPoint presentations, and executive positioning.
  • Identifies and uses appropriate digital and face-to-face communication channels for message/content delivery.
  • Manages strategic vendor partnerships, including agencies.
  • Demonstrates expert understanding of contemporary communication vehicles, tools and measurement processes.
  • Deliberately selects and applies best communication strategies, processes, channels and practices to meet business objectives and desired outcomes.
  • Able to communicate with all levels internally and externally. Builds constructive relationships across the organization and builds trust and rapport with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • 5-8 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, media relations and executive positioning
  • Experience working with senior executives
  • Strong writer and editor
  • Comfortable with accountability for both strategic and tactical deliverables
  • Digital experience preferred
  • Demonstrated consultative communications experience
  • Interpersonal skills working as a member of a collaborative team
  • Healthcare experience preferred, specifically in medical devices
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
